There is no group or troop, collective or company, all commands are my own, all the weak and the strong and the right and the wrong, belong to me.

I went to dance school because 3 yrs at dance school was better than having a job, and it wasn’t so much that I wanted to become a dancer, it was because I didn’t want to become an ordinary person. I felt determined to pursue certain feelings, and I would do anything to have those feelings again. Those feelings were a desire to understand more about the potential of my body, and the unlocking pre-existing behaviours and habits. To be confronted…

I believe in the importance of the beginning of a movement, the beginning of a sound, immortality, education, nature, authentic power and listening to our bodies (not telling them what to do).

I’m in love with what I am doing, I’m a curious outsider and make what’s in front of me, I reorder existing material, I walk it off, I hammer a piano with my fingers, I flirt with death. There is never really an over arching purpose to anything, it’s just a devoted desire to put my ideas into practice – doing very little but feeling so much.

I regard my work, not as dance, music or theatre, but as an awareness of a person’s existence.
